1) Running for any office is a decision that an individual makes to move issues in a different, and hopefully in a positive direction for all residents. I made this decision to run because of what I saw, and heard, that was not in the interests of most, but only the few. An elected official needs to be the voice of the voters, and serve the people, and I strive to be a strong voice for the people. Even though the few have a right to be heard, every person has the ability to speak up, use facts, and debate their purpose, and that is what democracy should be. South Dakota is moving forward, but we must do it with a strong foundation, and a vision that does not harm our way of life.

2) Pierre, as the peoples capital, has many issues to debate and tackle this session, and data centers,   taxes, and transparency are just three important issues. However, health insurance and  home insurance, are out of reach for many, and that needs to be negotiated to have within reasonableness reach for families and individuals. Public schools need to be supported, to help keep future workers in our state, and have the best education available for our students, and with that, our teachers, and paraprofessionals, need to be paid competitive rates, and benefits. Without competitive salaries, our state fails to live up to our promises to our residents, the promise of SD Strong.

3) The district that I would gladly serve, is facing a very tight budget, necessary road and bridge repairs, ambulance area coverage & adequate paramedic staff. In addition, budgets have been negotiated down to the point of minimal maintenance, and less improvements are being voted on by the County Commission.

4) I have a fourteen year career with Southern California Edison, which includes extensive utility experience in electrical substation operations, transmission and substation construction & accounting, Corporate Services, generation fuel scheduling, and CPUC utility research and filings. I also co-founded a 501C3 to help cities, towns, and municipalities, adhere to the EPA Phase 2 Clean Water Act.
Our home was a foster home, and we welcomed children into our home, and experienced the joy of adopting.
I have worked in  public schools, served on the BofD of a large private preschool, plus worked in banking for a period of time.
I am involved in environmental groups, own farmland, and respect the choices that we each should have the freedom to make in our lives.
